Search Engine Optimisation

Search engine optimisation is the reorganisation of your website to make it more attractive to the search engines. Typically this will involve:

Improving the Textual Content of the Website

The textual content of most websites is not written with search engines in mind and accordingly we undertake our Keyword Research service which discovers actual keywords used on the internet, traffic volumes for those keywords and the level of competition. This allows us and the client to select the most appropriate and effective keywords for the website and then use those keywords in the copy and in the meta tags of the website.

Meta Tags

We develop the meta tags for each relevant page to ensure that the appropriate information is presented to the search engines and that the information presented is likely to secure the most relevant visitors for the website. Whilst the value of some parts of the meta tags is hotly debated in the industry, there is no doubt that the <title> and <description> tags still play an important role in developing a search engine presence.

Website Structure

The architecture of a website is very important to its success on the search engines - and we spend a lot of our time advising our clients and their web design agencies on how to improve the technical structure of sites. Typical mistakes made in the design of websites are poor navigation systems, undue reliance on graphics and Flash, unfriendly forms, and the use of frames.
