We are thrilled to be back!

It is great to relaunch our newsletter - just sorry that we have been "off-air" for as long as we have!

We plan to publish every quarter and will be looking at some of the more interesting issues facing organisations seeking to improve their standing. We hope you find our articles and snippets of news from our industry of interest.

Digital Marketing in 2008

Video has arrived!

The market has moved amazingly over the last two years and video has now hit the digital marketing arena. Check out our client Man of the Match on YouTube .

Other clients have also put video on their websites and these include the three Michelin Star restaurant The Waterside Inn and the Bournemouth based Anglo Swiss Hotel. The power of video as a marketing tool on your website can be very exciting and we would would recommend all clients to consider this possibility in their future marketing plans.

Power of the Press

Online PR has become a key part of web presence in 2008 and we are finding some seriously impressive results coming through our press campaigns. New product and service launches distributed to selected magazines and journals can lead to outstanding focused coverage and remarkably high search engine rankings for some great words.

Mobile Phone Marketing

Hard to believe but the mobile phone, PDA, and of course the I-Phone are really beginning to make a difference - particularly where both the young (18-35) and the busy are concerned. Information requests using text messages, web searches which favour mobile websites, and mass messaging using SMS are now genuine options for all. Browsing the web using these devices is now becoming cheaper and something to think about and discuss with your web designer. Could your organisation benefit from a mobile website?

What do searchers click for on a search results page?

68% of searchers click the first page -only 8% search the first three pages
37% of searchers consider the top ranked sites leaders in their market place
49% of users who do not find what they want from the first page try again with a new search phrase
Images are the most popular type of search after text searches

More about this from Iprospect.com but the lessons are:

1) Be in the top 10 results
2) Have good compelling meta tags so that searchers click your results and not others

Why does good search engine optimisation cost so much?

money

Of course we don't think we are expensive and nor do most of our clients. But just exactly what are you paying for and do you get value for money? Why do some people claim to charge $25 a month for their seo work and others a lot more? In this article we try to explain why!
